After three unforgettable weeks in Bhutan, I returned home feeling creatively recharged, deeply inspired, and incredibly grateful.

This wasn't just a trip—it was a journey into a world where tradition and spirit live in every breath, every prayer flag, every misty mountain path. Over 14 days, I immersed myself in photography, culture, and connection, capturing the essence of one of the most peaceful and breathtaking places on Earth.

From the smiles of young monks to the golden light pouring through ancient temples, Bhutan imprinted itself not just on my camera, but on my soul.

A heartfelt thank you to my good friend and amazing photographer Ken Carroll for helping make this dream a reality—and to have had the opportunity to travel and photograph alongside Art Wolfe, one of the greatest photographers of our time, was truly humbling.

For those who may not know, Art Wolfe has spent more than four decades traveling the globe, capturing the spirit of people, landscapes, and wildlife in every remote corner of the world. His work goes beyond photography—it's storytelling through the lens of conservation, culture, and the quiet magic of nature. Being able to learn from Art firsthand—his vision, his passion, and his mastery—taught me more about creativity and storytelling in a few weeks than I had learned in my 20 years behind the camera.

I’m excited to announce that fine art prints from Bhutan & Bangkok are now available in the  Southeast Asia  gallery (with more being added as I continue to finish edits). Each piece is a window into the spirit of Bhutan—capturing light, tradition, and timelessness. These works will also be available at my Memorial Day Weekend Art Show in Sedona, Arizona.

If you're in the area, I’d love for you to stop by, say hello, and experience the collection in person.

This journey reminded me why I fell in love with photography in the first place: it's not just about capturing what we see—it's about capturing what we feel. Bhutan gave me moments of pure magic, where light, culture, and human spirit came together in ways that words often fail to describe—but images can.

Thank you to everyone who has followed my work, supported my art, or simply taken the time to experience the world through my lens. Here’s to new adventures, creative growth, and always chasing that light.

Stay inspired,
Michael Malandra
